I just won Spurs Tickets!
April 28, 2009 | 12:59 PM

Spurs vs Mavs Game 5 is tonight and I won tickets just by following @spurs on Twitter! Basically they gave a couple of hints about where they were going to eat lunch and followers were supposed to find them. The person who found them first got two Spurs Tickets.

I found them! Woohoo! GO SPURS GO!!!

And yes, my head is actually that large.

Here's how it all went down:
The first clue came early. @spurs had given a photo clue stating he'd be wearing a spurs dot com shirt.

@spurs later gave a clue that they would be eating lunch downtown. So, I waited on Houston and Navarro for the next clue.

@spurs then tweeted another photo clue that showed the area that they would be eating lunch at. After noticing the area on the map was Southtown, I ran and walked a good number of blocks to get to that area. I passed the Filling Station and wondered if they'd eat there. I settled on waiting at Rosario's since it is a popular spot and is the most centrally located in Southtown.

As I walked up to Rosario's I noticed a couple of people sporting some really nice Spurs gear. I noticed one of the guys even had what looked like a pass of some sort, but none were wearing the Spurs Dot Com shirt that the first clue showed. So, I waited patiently for the next clue.

Then, after what felt like a long time, came a more defining clue. It said "South Alamo." I look up to the street sign and I'm there, at Rosario's on South Alamo. I was glancing back and forth looking for that Spurs Dot Com shirt.

Ahhhh, here he is! I jumped up and ran toward Ben of Spurs.com. I said, "Hey how's it going! You made it!" By this time, I had been waiting at Rosario's for about 15-20 minutes. I lucked out that this really was the place they ended up going. It was certainly a good guess. He asked me what I was there for and I quickly responded, "I really want those tickets!"

As it turns out, the rest of the guys that were in Spurs gear were all part of the Spurs organization and were all meeting up for lunch! I thanked them all, took a few photos, and went on my way. Thanks again to all of them.

GO SPURS GO!!!

Look who I saw at the first Fiesta Fiesta event?

Steve Wozniak was on a Segway and was nice enough to take a pic with me.

Time Warner Charging Per GB
April 2, 2009 | 8:50 AM

Apparently, Time Warner Cable is going to more widely start charging customers, in certain markets, $1 per GB if they go over the tier they have selected. The packages are between $30 and $55 with download caps of 5, 10, 20 and 40 gigabytes.

I stream Netflix through my XBox and have a decent Time Warner package (a pricier one than most my friends). But, I don't see my relationship with Time Warner continuing if I'm going to be punished for watching movies streamed via NetFlix. I play video games online, stream music and download legal MP3's all the time. My bill would likely be outrageous since I also work as a web developer. I will certainly have to start shopping around for high speed internet. AT&T Uverse is an option. I'll definitely look for others.

San Antonio So Far
February 25, 2009 | 9:06 AM

It's almost been about a year that I moved to San Antonio from Ventura, CA. I lived in Texas before, but had never lived here in San Antonio. I wasn't sure I would like it, but San Antonio has treated me very well so far.

As it turns out, there is a lot to do here. You wouldn't think so if you didn't live here. There seem to be festivals and trade shows of all kinds one right after the other. A few recent events include the Mardi Gras River Parade, the San Antonio Wine Festival, the Asian Festival, the Stock Show and Rodeo, the World's Greatest Hobby on Tour, and I am looking forward to Luminaria, and Fiesta. I can't even make it to everything because of my work schedule, which unfortunately coincides with a lot of these events.

For those who don't know, I started working at the Majestic Theatre recently, front of house, and have enjoyed it very much. I've seen many great concerts, comedians and musicals. Last week, I kept pretty busy while Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was in town.

Pets Personified
January 5, 2009 | 9:15 AM

I recently completed an artwork website for my friend, Rene Perez. The site is petspersonified.net. As you can gather, it is a site dedicated to Rene's artwork in which he captures people's pets in human-like activity. If you have a chance, check out his website and let me know what you think.

XBOX LIVE and Netflix
July 15, 2008 | 5:46 PM

XBOX Live will start streaming Netflix Instant Watch videos via the XBOX 360 starting in the fall. XBOX Live Gold users and Netflix subscribers will be able to enjoy Netflix's library of movies available for viewing online.

I'd been waiting for this announcement for a year or so now. Apparently they announced it at E3 in Los Angeles, July 14th.

Feeling The Pain
June 26, 2008 | 1:01 PM

Stock Market dropped big time today. DJIA down 354 points.

Luckily I sold my position in BAC the other day because they dropped almost 7% (-$1.80) today. Yikes!

Is this the bottom? I hope so. I'm starting to get a little nervous with this economy. I don't know, I guess we'll see what happens.
